Overview

Brand New 3 bedded EBD home requires Registered Manager in Ormskirk.

To ensure children living at the home receive high quality care and support throughout their placement. To Lead in the recruitment, development, and supervision of staff to allow them to fulfil their duties. To manage the home in line with Regulatory Requirements ensuring that children are provided with a safe, nurturing home which allows them to achieve their potential . To ensure evidenced based practice and maintain the quality of the documentation and reporting within the home.

Responsibilities:

  • To prioritise the Safety and wellbeing of children living at the home.
  • To manage any safeguarding or child protection concerns in line with regulation and organisation policies.
  • To maintain a high quality of care and support which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and cultural needs of children.
  • To provide a caring, supportive, and nurturing environment in which children can feel secure and be free from harm.
  • Working in line with the 1989 Children’s Act, the 2004 Children’s Act, Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, and other relevant legislation.
  • To ensure education is promoted and supported and that each child’s attendance in education is maintained.
  • To provide high levels of support to the staff team and identify any development requirements and training opportunities.
  • To support in the induction of new staff to the home, oversee supervision, probationary periods and appraisals of all staff in the home.
  • Ensuring that each child’s care plan is followed and amended as appropriate to reflect their changing needs
  • To review children’s records with the Deputy Managers to ensure all relevant information is recorded and documents are completed to a high standard.
  • Chair, or participate in meetings and reviews as required.
  • Being ambitious for children, helping them achieve their goals and optimise their potential
  • Empowering children and facilitating their active involvement in the decision making about their lives and future

Qualifications:

  • Level 5 Leadership and Management – Essential
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Senior role within residential childcare
  • Strong knowledge of care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support
  • Excellent supervisory and leadership skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with children, families, and staff members
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and statutory guidance

Hours: 40 per week

Contract: Permanent
