Job Description

We are currently working with a client who requires Residential Support Workers to work within their residential respite LD children’s home based in St Helens Town Centre.

 

Salary: £11.54/hour

Hours: Full-Time – Shift Pattern Varies

Location: St Helens

Duration: Permanent

 

NVQ 3 Children & Young People is essential for this role

 

The 5-bed residential home provides respite for young children who have Learning Disabilities. You are required to have previous Learning Disability experience.

 

Role:

 

You will provide a supportive environment so that the Children and Young People can begin to develop self-respect and self-confidence.

You will be required to manage extremely challenging situations whilst maintaining high levels of empathy and understanding.

You must have a resilient personality in order to support children and young people who can demonstrate abusive and aggressive behaviour.

Committed to providing an excellent level of care for our young people.

Able to enjoy our young people’s successes and be supportive through their challenges

Assertive in difficult situations, while remaining calm under pressure

A good communicator with interpersonal skills.

Have a sense of humour and fun

Requirements:

 

Must have experience supporting children within residential care

NVQ 3 Children & Young People qualification is essential

2 years’ experience working within a children’s residential setting

Enjoy going out to do activities with the young people

Empathetic and understanding

Resilient personality
