About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team in Wiltshire (Salisbury and Melksham) to provide therapeutic support to children in care. This is an exciting opportunity to work across multiple children’s homes, including a new assessment home where you will work closely with children to assess and address their individual needs.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Therapeutic Care: Deliver evidence-based therapeutic and psychologically-led care, in accordance with HCPC and BPS standards, under supervision.
  • Psychological Assessments: Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and young people, preparing detailed psychological reports.
  • Care Planning: Develop, write, and regularly update therapeutic care plans for children and young people in residential care and educational settings.
  • Intervention: Manage a caseload for individual psychological interventions, providing specialist input to young people and teams in both residential care and educational settings.
  • Service Development: Contribute to the development of a therapeutically informed approach across both educational and residential teams.

What We’re Looking for from You

  • Experience: Proven experience working with children and young people, or transferable skills that demonstrate the ability to work effectively with this group.
  • Expertise: Post-doctoral knowledge of applied psychology, including developmental lifespan psychology and models of psychopathology.
  • Trauma & Complex Needs: Experience working with children who have experienced trauma and have complex needs, including risk and crisis management, safeguarding, and self-harm.
  • Training and Supervision: Experience in teaching, training, and/or supervision of others.
  • Qualifications: Practitioner doctorate or equivalent, accepted by the British Psychological Society (BPS) for HCPC registration.
  • Therapeutic Practices: Knowledge and experience in therapeutic interventions, including sensory strategies.
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously while receiving support through supervision.
  • Technology: Competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Driving: A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Hours: Part-time, minimum 22.5 hours per week (2 days on-site, 1 day remote).

All homes in the area must be visited at least once per week.
