About you:

You will be a highly motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join our current team based at a medium secure hospital caring for adult patients (18 years and older) suffering from mental illness, personality disorder and mild to moderate learning disability.

We are looking to recruit a values-led, resourceful, motivated OT; with experience in mental health, who enjoys new challenges and who has an understanding of the value of being engaged in meaningful occupations. This role requires compassion, enthusiasm, creativity and proactivity. As an Occupational Therapist, you will support our patients to engage in self-care, productive and recreational groups. This will be achieved through the planning and facilitation of 1:1 and group interventions. You will work alongside the Occupational Therapist and members of the multidisciplinary team to identify the patients’ Occupational Needs.

Enabling our patients with dementia and mental health to receive a truly integrated and holistic approach to their treatment and care, regardless of complexity or severity, thanks to the knowledge and expertise of our multidisciplinary clinical teams. The post holder will be qualified and registered with HCPC with preferred experience in dementia and mental health care. The successful candidate will be expected to have excellent interpersonal skills when liaising with members of the multi-disciplinary team, external agencies and organisations, patients, and relatives.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated senior occupational therapist to join our team of forensic occupational therapists and therapy assistants. This position is designed for an experienced occupational therapist who has as an interest in working with individuals with learning disabilities and neurodiversity. The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing specialist assessments and therapeutic interventions to detained males within our LD/ASD Service Line.

Working in a medium secure setting, you will demonstrate a good knowledge of occupational therapy input into risk assessment and risk management and will be an integral member of the clinical team. Standardised clinical tools based on the Model of Human Occupation will be utilised where the post holder has identified their appropriateness using specialist knowledge.

The post holder will supervise other members of the occupational therapy team, as well as contribute to service developments.
